i3MS GPS renewal for Odisha mining trucks

A mineral-carrying truck in Odisha cannot load at an i3MS-registered mine if its GPS subscription has lapsed. Not "should not" — the gate will turn it away. This page covers what renewal costs, how quickly it goes through, and what to do if you have already been stopped.

What renewal actually is

The tracker bolted into your cab is only half the system. The other half is a live subscription that keeps the device reporting to the state portal. Buy the device once; keep the subscription running every year after that.

When the subscription lapses the hardware keeps working perfectly — it simply stops being seen. From the mine’s side your truck looks untracked, and an untracked truck does not get loaded.

What it costs with us

Renewal is ₹2,900 per year, per vehicle. A new fitting — device, first year’s subscription and installation — is ₹4,500.

There is no separate charge for fitting, for registering the device against your vehicle number, or for the reminder before next year’s renewal. If you are running a fleet, send us the list of vehicle numbers and we will come to your yard.

How long it takes

A renewal on a device already registered against your vehicle is usually same-day. A new fitting takes about an hour per truck at our Sundargarh centre, and we can do several in a visit if you bring the fleet together.

The slow case is a truck whose registration details do not match the device records — a changed owner, a re-registered vehicle, a device moved across trucks. Those need the paperwork sorted before activation, so tell us up front if any of that applies.

If your truck is already stopped at the gate

Call rather than message. We can usually tell you within a few minutes whether the problem is a lapsed subscription, a device that has stopped reporting, or a registration mismatch — and the fix is different for each.

Not letting it happen again

The reason trucks get caught out is that renewal dates sit in one person’s head and that person is usually driving. We hold the renewal date for every vehicle we fit and call before it falls due.

  • Renewal reminder by phone and WhatsApp before the date, not after
  • One point of contact who knows your vehicle numbers
  • Fitting at our Sundargarh centre or at your yard anywhere in Odisha
  • Local support in Odia, Hindi and English

Common questions

What happens if the GPS subscription lapses?
The device keeps running but stops reporting to the portal, so the truck shows as untracked and will not be loaded at an i3MS-registered mine. Renewal restores reporting, usually the same day.
Can I renew a device that someone else fitted?
Usually yes, provided it is an AIS-140 certified device registered against your vehicle. Send us the vehicle number and the device details and we will confirm before you travel.
Do you come to the yard, or must the truck come to you?
Either. Fitting at our Sundargarh centre is quickest for one or two trucks. For a fleet it is less disruptive if we come to you.
How much is renewal for a whole fleet?
₹2,900 per vehicle per year. Send the list of vehicle numbers and we will give you one date and one invoice for the lot.
